| What do you think of the 2024 HRV? Do you think it would be a good first car for a young adult? |
| Kind of small. I’d want something bigger for a new driver. |
| We bought one for my two teenage drivers to share. They love the size and the sporty look to it. The trunk is surprisingly spacious and can accommodate all sorts of cargo. Also insurance is reasonable for a young driver as the car has many safety features (at least the sport version). |

In case of an accident? Or other considerations?
The HRV's IIHS safety ratings are good - even better than the CRV. It even passed the updated tests other SUVs are struggling with. https://www.iihs.org/ratings/vehicle/Honda/hr-v-4-door-suv/2024 |
How does it drive on the highway? |
| It's a great car for a teen. I was debating between a Corolla Cross, HRV, and a Subaru Crosstek. The Subaru is often on available in more expensive trims and gets worse gas millage, and the Cross has an odd CVT transmission that I dont love because the car struggled to get started. |
| By young adult do you mean someone early in the workforce? Then sure HRV seems nice. If you mean teenager, there is no way I put my new driver in a new car. The car will get dinged plus the insurance rates will be crazy. I put my new driver in a used car with solid safety features. |
PP here who purchased if for her teens - it drives great on the highway. Pickup is appropriate for a Honda and merging into traffic is easy. The only complaint I have on the car is it does not have rear seat vents (only under the front seats). When I am the passenger and sitting in the back it can be a little chilly until the overall cabin warms up. The insurance on a brand new 2024 HRV with the teens listed as primaries is actually cheaper than insurance is on our two 6+ year old European cars with husband and I being the primary. We had looked at buying a 2020ish CRV for them but those cars had 50k+ miles and were only 2-3k less than an HRV. Figured buying them a new car would minimize any mechanical issues or breakdowns and we most likely will not have to buy tires or brakes anytime soon. |
