Best university camp for next summer

Anonymous
I'm a planner, and 2025 vacation plans are lackluster already. I'd like to try to plan one around a university swim camp - which one is the best option for an 11 year old who's ok but definitely not great? Open anywhere in the country.

Supposedly camps are much better on the west coast. Not sure the truth of it. But that is an option.

Naval Academy - Great camp, fills up quickly. We've done it multiple times and all great experiences.

When is registration for the Navy one? What is the youngest they take?

December, and 8, I think? There were still some spots, last I checked.

I think it’s 8, sometimes younger but they don’t let the younger kids sleep over except if a sibling was there. I think we started at 8. They are really attentive to the younger ones. I think registration was November or December.

Hmmm, thanks. We're really interested in Navy, but that's hardly something to append to a vacation. Maybe we'll try it anyway.

We've done it multiple years and mine love it. They have two sessions to choose from with Coach Roberts. They also have another swim camp with different coaches later in the summer but no idea about those coaches.

We are giving the UVA Swim Camp a try this year. We've heard lots of good things about it.

It seems to fill up quickly as there was only 1 session available for Fairfax County kids due to when school gets out.

What specifically makes Navy’s camp so great?

Registration opened a while ago. They added an additional session, so there are 3 available for Fairfax County kids. Session II, is sold out all ready. Session III might work. Session IV won't if your child believes they will make Divisional Relays.
