Shopping for blazers/jackets

DS is required to wear a blazer next year. Can't say we have any laying around.

What are the best stores?
Sock brands?
Ties?

Try Macys or lord and Taylor for blazers - they have a wide variety and there are always coupons and sales.

My son has had a few of the Land's End Hopsack blazers but we now buy from Macy's.

They always have super sales where you can get a nice men's blazer for under $100.

If your school has a used uniform store consider that. Your son will likely lose his so it’s easier to just buy a couple of used ones if available.

JC Penny and Men's Warehouse were our stores of choice. And schools often have used clothing sales as mentioned above.

Not it hijack your post but can we add what type of shoes do boys wear at coat and tie schools?

We get the Gioberti boys blue blazer on Amazon. They are like $45 and great quality.

Target or thrift stores if your child is tough on their clothes

You can also search Ebay for used ones. There are some good bargains out there for things that are barely worn.

Love the vineyard vines navy blazer.

Lands End or better yet a school exchange sale.

These things will be treated like a pair of dirty socks. They'll be stuffed in backpacks and left out in the rain when the kids are playing sports. Don't waste your money.

Also if it is too nice, depending on the boys it can be commented on. It’s much safer socially to wear and old and cheap blazer than a fancy new one

Lands end has a sale a few times a year for 40 percent off. We stock up and buy them.

Same for ties - not sure what school you are at but STA allows them to wear sneakers.
