If I were going with kids, I’d eat at Juniors on 45th (deli) or Becco (italian), or grab slices of pizza.

We were just there and had dinner at Trattoria Del'Arte. It's been there forever and is reliably good. My very picky younger kid loved it.

Why not sample the local Italian cuisine?

Sbarro is a great restaurant.

Quality Meats, Quality Italian and Quality Bistro. Easy to get reservations, fairly generic but good food. Near to theaters. A little touristy-ish but not overwhelmingly so.
