April McClain Delaney for MD-6

Delaney's wife seems to be consolidating endorsements and leading in advertising. She also has a ton of money, and seems to be a pretty mainstream, normie Democrat like her husband and like Trone. Is she the candidate for the 6th district? Can she beat Neil Parrott?

The 6th has gotten redder with redrawing the district, but not decidedly so. Frederick County, like it or not, has indeed become Montgomery County North. But Western Maryland is MAGAland. I think a deep-pocketed moderate candidate would be the best pick, but can a woman repeat what Trone has accomplished?

She’ll need to put some effort into fooling at least some of the more gullible rubes in western Maryland. The 6th is a lot redder now than it used to be. They’re not very bright, but they’re suspicious and conspiratorial. You’re not going to get some of them to vote for a Dem unless you can trick them. The question is, will she be able to?

If that’s so, it must be an interesting marriage, since John Delaney was the spitting image of a generic centrist that ChatGPT could produce. He was probably to the right of Trone.

Western Maryland is redder but Frederick County is much bluer. Including outside of Frederick City.

So what I’m hearing is, a dem needs to rely on deception and subterfuge as a winning strategy? A dem candidate will have to “fool” some of the voters?
