Help finding an art teacher for ASD child

| DS is 10 and has been diagnosed with ASD. He loves art but he has issues and anxieties when in a class with neurotypical kids. We would like to hire an art teacher to teach him privately. Do you know how we would be able to find someone? We live in Rockville, MD. |

| I would reach out to the art class places near you and ask if they would be willing to do a private class. I've heard good things about visi arts and their willingness to be accommodating. |

I know you are looking for private lessons, but Create Arts in DTSS does have classes/camps specifically for kids on the spectrum and kids with learning differences.

| Create Arts Center also offers art therapy for kids and adults. This is in addition to scheduled art therapy groups and art classes. |

She teaches art, yoga and mindfulness and has a master's level degree in education. My ASD child did really well in her small group art classes at Bender JCC. |
