Can a student admitted to UMD for Fall ‘24 attend PT (9 credits)

I know 12 cr/semester is FT. Is it assumed an admitted student will go FT. Is permission required to attend PT (9 cr/semester)? It would just be the first semester due to a unique situation.

If the kid has a disability and is registered with the office for disabilities, they can take 9 credit hours and be considered full time.
