Trump can stay on the ballot.
Correct decision. |
So that means a Democratic House and Senate could enact the 14th Amendment in January, 2025 and not seat Trump?
Or could any aligned House and Senate do this with any opposition party presidential electee? This causes even MORE problems. |
Nobody knows. |
This was a no-brainer. But he won't get immmunity. |
*immunity* |
Well, one positive thing about Trump is that he is highlighting all of the flaws and weaknesses in our system of government. Lets patch those loopholes! |
Biden needs to understand that the courts are not going to take Trump out of the running.
His effort at Lawfare are not going to work. |
Biden is not directing any of this. We have checks and balances. |
Biden has nothing to do with this. If you don't get that, you are brainwashed |
So much for "states rights". |
This makes a mess of the 14th amendment. Raises more questions than it answers. |
Sure. And, pigs fly. |
Trump didn't have the votes last time and he doesn't have the votes this time. You can blather about "lawfare" but what you actually mean is the rule of law. This decision isn't terrible, for several reasons. But as someone posted upthread, if an insurrectionist is elected, they would not be seated. This doesn't apply to Trump because he doesn't have the votes and won't be elected. But we need to start examining other current and future lawmakers for their participation on January 6. |
