14 & U Championships Question

The PVS 2024 SC 14 & Under Championships meet announcement says 10 & under 500 freestyle is a Timed Finals event (on page 10). The same meet announcement shows both boys and girls 10 & under 500 freestyle events in the Sunday Finals session (on page 11). Which is correct?

Yes. if there are 5 total heats, 4 swim at prelims and the last one swims at finals.

But a kid who swims in the afternoon could in theory still win the event. Based on last year's results, for example, a boy who swam in the afternoon placed 4th and therefore ahead of several kids who swam in the "final."

Yes, correct. The winner could be from the heats that swim in prelims.

Correct, when everyone gets one swim, it’s one set of results
