Marriott Stellaris Resort & Casino vs. Wyndham Rio Grand Mar
It's for aa group event (14 people) and being able to walk to dinners, etc is helpful, as well as close-ish to airport. Marriott seems ok just don't want totally dated. Was looking at others, but some are booked, too $$ or haven't replied. |

We are going for first time this year. Wyndham is near the rain forest and not in the middle
of San Juan like the Marriott. The travel forums with TripAdvisor and Puerto Rico travel subreddit have helpful info. |
| So Wyndham is out of the way? Good to know. |
| There’s like 3 other threads right now about PR hotels and group events. |
| Marriott is very convenient. But yeah, needs a refresh. It’s not terrible and we loved the convenience, but I’m not sure I’d stay there again. |
can you find a map? |
| The Wyndham is about 30 minutes from the airport. Not terribly far but not as close as a hotel right in San Juan would be. There are several restaurants onsite at the Wyndham but nothing outside of the resort is easily walkable. |
| We've stayed at La Concha, a Renaissance Marriott hotel. Great location. You need to be San Juan or Old San Juan if you want walkable nightlife and restaurants. Fortunately both locations are also edge beautiful water. There are lots of PR threads here. |
when ddi you go? I was told the rooms are renovated, carpet gone, etc. |
| Check out the Royal Sonesta. It is like 5 minutes from the airport, has a nice pool/beach, and is a 15 min. Uber to Old San Juan. |
November. The room was ok. No carpet but the floor looked best up. Couldn’t tell whether it had been recently refreshed or not. I really liked the location. It just wasn’t as nice as I had hoped. The pool area looked pretty 80s but was clean. The staff was fabulous tho. So kind and helpful. |
