| We are a group of 6 with lots of luggage. Can we find a taxi at the airport in Rome that will fit us or should we book a private transfer? |
|
There are large taxi vans that may be able to take you depending on how much luggage.
Can you take the train to Roma Termini? |
| I mean you'd have to do 2 cars with 6 + luggage anyway. Most of their taxis aren't going to be mini-van sized but you will find them for sure. It was really really (REALLY) hard for us last summer to find taxis. Even at the airport and train stations - long lines. But this is early June summer so maybe not so much now? My best advice though would be private transfers just out of convenience. I like private transfers to/from airport on arrival. |

That’s what I figured.
We usually have luck finding minivans domestically and we can fit 6 people and luggage in a minivan. But I suppose lining up transfers will make it easier. Zero interest in taking the train. I’m trying to make travel as easy as possible. |

I would also reduce the amount of luggage if possible- is there an elevator where you’re staying? |
We are traveling for 2.5 weeks and won’t have access to laundry facilities, plus we need to bring a mix of clothes (beach, casual, and dressy). We will simply need to bring a decent amount of luggage. Everywhere we are staying has an elevator. Regardless, we have able bodied teens who can schlep the heavy stuff. |
| I booked private transfers between airport/train stations and hotels. It made life much easier. |
| I did private transfers last summer and it's well worth it. They all drove larger vans, not minivans. |
| We're a family of 5 and travel a lot internationally. We always book private transfers including Italy. |
