What is happening with the new Ashburn HS?

I read something about Brambleton would not have any middle schoolers for awhile. Is this actually the plan?

What? Your title and post don’t go together in any way

Are you talking about HS 14? They explain the plan here.

This is what happens when you move into a high growth area. Caveat emptor.

And this is why we chose the northern part of Ashburn over Brambleton and other, newer communities when we were house-hunting 5 years ago. We preferred the stability of well-established neighborhood schools with less likelihood of frequent rezoning.

Interestingly there was just something in the local news about this new (to-be-built) high school. It seems that there is opposition to the plans from local residents (who themselves are living in fairly new construction).

Most all of the land east of 15 is meant to be developed to some degree even if it’s at low densities. It would be a shame if the residents block the high school due to the light pollution. For a true “dark sky” stargazing, one must now travel to West Virginia or a certified dark sky park like Glacier in Montana.
