Gift ideas? for 4 month old, and for 1 1/2 year old

Anonymous
Will be visiting extended family next month and want to bring a gifts for my four month old niece (first child for that couple).
And for my one and a half year-old nephew (he’s the youngest of three with two older sisters who are 8 and 10 years old).

It’s been so long since I’ve purchased gifts for these ages! Any ideas? maybe each gift in the $50-$75 range. Clothing is always an option and I may do that, but wondering if there are any new/clever/popular toys or gadgets out there? TIA

Books are always good.

Magnatiles are the best toy, so if the 1.5 year old doesn’t already have them definitely get those.

For the 4 month old get a Manhattan toy Winkel rattle and a Freddie the Firefly. Use the extra budget for the magnatiles.

Magnatiles are awesome for 3 and up and really unsafe for kids this age.

I would give books. Find something published in the past few years for the toddler since he has older siblings.

Agree on magnatiles — my 22 month old got them for Xmas and has been playing with them daily — they also play with them in her daycare room with kids ranging from 18-24 months so pretty age appropriate assuming kid is supervised.

Mom of two kids under two here. Please, no more toys or clothes! Books are always good, though. “Little Blue Truck” is the current favorite at our house. Also, any books that are interactive: touch and feel, lift the flap, buttons with noises, etc.

Op here. Thank you for the ideas!

Someone gifted us this (https://www.amazon.com/Flora-Bunny-Animated-Stuffed-Animal/dp/B07CHS1NSZ) when I was pregnant and our 6 month old loves it! It’s really cute and would go well with a book.
