Meeting a friend in Europe in July...where should we go?!

Anonymous
A friend is working in London in Europe and we're meeting up (without kids) for 4.5 days. Where should we go?! Amsterdam is on the table, Scotland (although we've both been there more than once), Norway? Haven't had this problem in a long time.

I don't know but I am so jealous

I think you’re definitely on the right track choosing a northern location, as it will be hot as hell in Southern Europe. Berlin is a favorite of mine, Stockholm is lovely as well.

Iceland or other Scandinavian countries if you don’t want to be in the blistering heat.

Amsterdam, Stockholm, Tallinn.

Scotland is so crowded in the summer.

Oslo is a short flight from London. Summer is spectacular there.

I'd fly to Milan, Geneva or Zurich and go to a lake town somewhere on the edge of the Alps near one of those.

If I could afford it, I would do Switzerland.

Norway is a bit boring other than the fjords, and stupidly expensive. I say Stockholm or Copenhagen.
