DPR camp lottery

We did not get into any DPR camp not even waitlisted. It seems like every thing here so hard to obtain for kids between school lottery and camp lottery. We moved here from nyc and it was not this hard in city much larger to obtain quality schooling and programming. We don’t make tons of money both of us are educators.

I dont know who's idea to switch it to this lottery system. It started last year, and I wish they would go back to the other process. We were waitlisted for 1 week and then nothing for one of the other weeks.

So strange because we got our first choice for every session. And sorry, not to brag, just so weird you got nothing.

We were the 6-12 camp and chose the discovery camp option. I knew it was unlikely we would get into any specialty camps so left those off.

I will say, we likely aren’t going to use the first two sessions and I imagine plenty of others will give up slots so hopefully you can reapply. I remember this happened last year as well.

Check back after the payment deadline. A lot of spots opened up last year

Don’t let waitlist discourage you. People here tend to snap up spots and then drop out—see when the refund deadline is and that’s when you might get called.

I don't know what rec center you were looking for your kid to attend but it is not quality from my experience.

Is there a way to learn about your place on the waitlist?

Agree with this for both the general and the specialty camps.
