Outplacement Early notification from your current school?

Anonymous
If an outplacement year, would you hear from your current school (independent) if your child is not getting into any of the schools they applied to?
Or do they pretty much make sure that you've applied to a school that they think your child can get into?
Are there those at K-8 or K-3, etc that didn't get into any of their schools? Not talking about coming from a public.

I’m not sure how much advance notice they get. But our K-8 was clear during the process that if any family gets shut out, talk to them ASAP and they’ll work the phones to find the student a spot to land.

For our k-8 - I believe in the rare case that a student is totally shut out, that our school would let them know before Mar 1 (likely the day before). However, I am not sure this includes families that have explicitly stated that they are using public as their safety. (For example - if a family has stated "Big 3 or public might" - they might not get a call if none of the Big 3 accept the student? But maybe they do.).

I have said this before on here but we got 2 days’ advance notice from our private of shut-out. We had applied to the exact schools recommended by our school (plus one more to be “safe”), did not have any incidents during the application process that we were aware of, etc. Two years on and we still don’t know the reason it happened.
