Temporary rental for family of 5

My family (3 kids 6 and under) will be vacating our current rental by September, and are torn between renting in opposite sides of the city.

I am having trouble with the uncertainty of everything. I almost wish we could move from our current place sooner rather than later, and live temporarily if needed for a month or two between now and September. Someplace that would allow for quicker turnaround, rather than the 60 days' notice required at our current place. That way we'd be all ready to go as soon as we found a place. We'd likely use some sort of storage cube for things we wouldn't need every day at the temporary place.

Has anyone done such a thing? While we'd prefer a 2 bedroom of course, we could make due with a 1 bedroom (us parents could happily sleep in the living room for a month), in a temporary place like this.

Thoughts? Tips? Places that specialize in temporary leases or something?

For the summer at least we'd need to stay in Ward 3- so we are a little constricted in terms of where we would need to have such a temporary accomodations.
