Are "cool" bed pillows a gimmick, or are some actually cooling?

As the title asks - do these pillows actually provide cooling relief as you sleep, are are they gimmicky? If they work, can you recommend what you've found that works and helps keep you cool as you sleep?

| They are cold. I am always cold but DH insists on his crazy pillows that he has paid a small fortune for then ends up trying to steal my pillow all the time or pushes me off my pillow in the middle of the night and try’s to switch mine for those horrible cold pillows. I can’t stand those cold pillows, that is to say yes they work. |
