Garrison vs. JCC

We have just moved back to DC and are considering sending our 3 year old to Garrison Elementary (we are in bounds) where we understand that the new prinicpal is instituting changes and that parents in the Pre-School class are increasingly active. We have also just been admitted to the JCC. We would appreciate any feedback on either of these programs and from parents who have tried to make the public/private decision for kids at this stage.

Wow, Garrison? I just can't see that and I send my kids to a school that most people on this would find "questionable."

This principal is the same one as last year? I'm completely unimpressed.

Having a facebook page and a "buzz" is not enough for me. There is so much more change that needs to happen at Garrison. I wouldn't even know where to begin and the idea of leaving a 3 year old there is, well, unthinkable.

JCC is a long established program with many satisfied customers.

You might try calling the charter pre-schools and arrange to get on their waitlist. You might get lucky and get in, saving yourself the expense of the JCC and experience of Garrison.
