Maryland DL renewal is stupid

Seriously what's the point of even having DLs anymore? All I do is pay a stupid fee and get one mailed to my housafyer filling out an online form . It's just a greedy cash grab by the state for essentially nothing.

How have we not digitized them yet and made one lifetime fee and gotten it over with? So annoying.

Well since it’s the most commonly used form of ID and people are transient, it’s not really a bad system.

Mandate people get written and/or road tests in order to get their licenses renewed. Require something for the stupid fee. That's why there are so many horrific drivers in MD. They give DLs out to anyone with a pulse.

I took a 6-hour defense driving course of my own volition after being in a minor accident. I was amazed at how much I had forgotten. I'm surprised governments don't require some type of refresher course.

I got a notice that I have to go in this time. Maybe because the photo is 10 years old? I'm going to miss that photo.

Which is dumb. If you're not going to require anything of people then just pay a one lifetime fee and be over with it either than burden people with unnecessary administrative crap and periodic fees.
