Does the waitlist ever really move?

Yes- there will be movement. Most kids apply to more than one school. If.

No. They over-admit so they never need to go to the waitlist.

They over admit - and they go the the waitlist.

If it is your top choice - DO NOT reach out next week. Give the admissions dept a week to deal with all the people who just got admitted.

If you are at a Private, work with the head of school.
If you are at a public, the week of March 4th, reach out to admissions with a letter stating that SJC is a top choice and ask if there is any additional information you can provide them for when they consider students later in the spring.
