| Curious how much hspt was a factor in the decision. Child didn’t do well yet had good grades. Wondering what others experience was with admissions and a low hspt |
| High 60s with good grades. In at Bishop McNamara and DeMatha. We are at a Catholic k-8. |
| Accepted to SJC, GC, and DeMatha. |
Wow. Good to hear. Is your son an athlete? Did you apply to Gonzaga? |
| In at DJO from a K-8 private school with good grades (but not a good HSPT score). |
Not an athlete. Did not apply to Gonzaga. |

60’s on HSPT
In at SJC & DeMatha Not accepted at Gonzaga |
Same here. Thinking HSPT mattered a lot for GZ admissions. |
Same. I am sure it was an easy way to divide and decline. This pile with low hspt goes here and then no need to read the essays. |
| I know people don’t want to hear this, but the HSPT isn’t that hard. If your kid has good grades, they shouldn’t be getting a 60%. |
| Also not great HSPT waitlisted at Gonzaga coming from a Catholic k-8 |
Just because your kid is amazing and a great test taker doesn’t mean some other kids don’t find it hard. My DC has a learning issue. |
| Sorry but some kids suffer from test anxiety or aren’t great taking a standardized test and yet still prove to be straight A students. There’s a reason why colleges are moving away from standardized test scores. Happy for you that your kid doesn’t suffer from that. |
+1 DC had 96th percentile on the verbal sections, 15th on math. Composite was 60. Has all As except for a B in pre-Algebra in public and is happily accepted to a Diocese of Arlington high school. |
You could have spared us this PSA actually… |
