WAMU shuts down DCist to focus almost entirely on its audio business:

TBH, I stopped going to DCist after they turned off comments -- seemingly because they didn't want people criticizing their journalism (or their voluminous factual errors) -- and became stenographers for the Allen/Nadeau wing of the DC political sphere. They needed to be more like the Baltimore Banner and less like the DC Justice Lab newsletter. I can only imagine how grim their web traffic must have been.
