Writing camps?

My DS will be heading into high school next year and is in APS. Given all that I have heard from others regarding lack of writing instruction I am concerned about the lack of writing instruction in the schools and wanted to supplement so that he has a strong foundation of essay writing heading into 9th grade. Are there any camps/programs anyone have used and would recommend (or for that matter, not recommend)? TIA!

Art of Problem Solving has writing camps and school year programs. Some of the private schools also have summer camps focused on academic enrichment.
