Anyone rent a McPS room for a weekend?

Anonymous
I’ve rented a room from McPS for this weekend for a large event. I have my active Montgomery confirmation from when I reserved it months ago but no further information. Do they send anything in advance? Do I just show up a few minutes before my rental time and hope someone is there to unlock the door? Never done this before and getting nervous something will go wrong!
Thank you!

Call that school and ask the Asst Principal or Principal even if the principals are not in charge of the community rooms. They may know.

I don't know all the details, but I've been on the periphery of this and I know our group had an issue with the school not being opened when we got there. Later we learned that there was an afterhours line we were supposed to call. I believe it was this: 240-490-CUPF (2873) from this site (https://cupfmontgomerycountymd.blogspot.com/search/label/Guidebook%20for%20School%20Facilities), but I might give the mainline a call before the weekend to ask what you're supposed to do if no one is there.

It's usually done through Active Montgomery, the county's reservation website. I have an account there and use it to reserve school spaces for various orgs I'm a part of. If you have an account the reservation should show up there.

PP, please read. According to OP, they already reserved room months ago. The question is what may happen when they show up at the venue this weekend and doors are not open.

Definitely don't call them, they won't have a clue. Contact the business office. They track all outside use because they have to account for custodians.

Believe it or not, Principal may be working on weekend. They may be willing to keep an eye out for the doors when you are expected to arrive or let the custodian know. It helps if your child is a student at that school so he/she already knows you as a parent.
