2024 MCPS parent survey

Mcps likes to put out surveys. Who knows if our input truly matters. For those who have already taken the survey, what were the three biggest concerns you selected or stated?

I can’t remember the choices but I did take it for both our ES and our MS.

didn't it seem like similar questions were asked on survey?
Anonymous
MCPS surveys regularly and then ignores the results of those surveys. Nonetheless, I emphasized how awful the state of safety and security is in MCPS in my responses.

+1 no place to bring up the issues with the bathrooms across the HS.

They're checking boxes as they get ready for end of this year/planning for next year. Nutrition survey, parent survey, student survey, school survey. Now waiting on a survey that allows us to provide real feedback.

Are these surveys created in-house or outsourced? How much $ has been wasted on these?

Don't forget the survey to ask students and parents their preferred venue for HS graduation, after MCPS had already made a deal to hold it in Baltimore county (where is B county!?)! Only 2 HS - Blair and SV - opted to have it at their schools.

My kid’s teacher has been out for over 3 weeks with a different sub every day. Sometimes it’s the principal teaching the class. No Hw and a big bunch of nothing burger BS answers when we ask him about it. This is not to be co fused with last fall when the teacher was suspended for hitting a kid in the class. Also didn’t get any admin communication to help my kid comprehend what they observed. Just heard from the parent of the abused child.

If it's like our old school, don't ask the school counselor to try to help students process what they may have seen if something like what you are describing happened in the class, PP. The counselor would say they should direct questions elsewhere. A counselor!

Many HS students eat in the classroom, one they have a class in or one of their friends does. Teachers are there too in the classroom. How can teachers get a break from students? How do schools keep classrooms clean if they allow eating outside cafeteria?

1. my daughter can't use a bathroom in hs (bcc) and she is now having medical issues from holding it in.

2. school starts too early 745am for teens is unhealthy.

3. school work is based on memorization and no deep work is happening. crappy curriculum.

I wrote in that issues of safety, security, and discipline were top of mind. Maybe we could all write in
