Road diets on 65 and 95?

Anonymous
Progressives want to make driving inconvenient to foce us to use mass transit--they have created a fake problem (lack of ability to walk across or around or maybe even on 95 or 66) to justify making driving harder.

https://wtop.com/prince-william-county/2024/02/study-to-improve-pedestrian-bicyclist-safety-near-interstates-in-prince-william-co/

According to a staff report, which is expected to be discussed Tuesday at the Board of County Supervisors meeting, “Interstates 95 and 66 bisect entirely the northern and eastern portions of the County, creating a significant hindrance to pedestrian and bicyclist crossings.”

The study would consider infrastructure improvements, including overpasses, signals and protected lanes.

Seems like they're looking at making it safer for pedestrians and bicyclists. I'm not sure how that would make driving inconvenient or force anyone to use mass transit.

Yep, sounds like good progress towards considering all users and not just those in cars, makes sense that progressives would be in favor of this!

sHArE tEh rOaD!!!

Bikes have as much right to the lanes of I-95 as any other vehicle!!! And dedicated bike lanes on 95, too! (even though I won’t use them and will instead ride in a travel lane right next to the bike lane, because I have a right to!)

nice try at siring the pot, but bikes do not have as much right to interstates as other vehicles and can be disallowed by law and is disallowed by a majority of the states

There are areas where its is permitted and signage states as such

Now if you want to ride your bike on i95 or i66, In a travel lane no less even, I'm sure VSP will quickly enlighten you, if they don't get there fast enough they'll take a pic of the wetspot on the road and notify your family. Just do us all a favor and post it here when you plan to do this so the rest of us normal folks can plan our day around the impending road closure.

It sounds like they are looking for ways to get pedestrians across interstates. I'm trying to figure out how OP got road diet on 95 out of that

I understand the desire to turn this into a rage about the libs but I just don't see it in the referenced article.

Rage meter remains at zero
