MD Alimony Calc

Anonymous
We decided to go to mediation and agreed not to engage attorneys before we did. I think we are doing a 50/50 split but I make more than my spouse. They are part time and change from PT at various percentages to FT depending on how much flexibility they want. If they went full time, I would no likely owe alimony based on the calculator. But if they use their part time salary, I would potentially owe them money for life.

What is used? What the person makes on a part time salary or if the person can work up to full time (older children and no restrictions with work saying no) then the full time salary?

You may need to consult a lawyer to let your wife know that having kids half the time frees her up to work full-time.

Yes, get your own lawyer to review it before you sign it.

I don't think that you would necessarily owe her alimony for life. Five to ten years, perhaps. Bro, you need to consult a lawyer.

Prob 1-2 years at part time alimony then they work fulltime and that amount thereafter
