"[The Montgomery County Board of Education is being sued by three teachers who claim their First Amendment rights were violated after they were suspended for what the lawsuit claimed was “supporting basic Palestinian human rights.”]"

Robinson is teacher at Westland MS
Wolf at Takoma Park MS
El-Haggan at Argyle MS

Lawsuit was filed by the Maryland chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations.

Robinson and Wolf: "on suspension due to posts that the school system deemed antisemitic. El-Haggan was suspended for a pro-Palestinian statement she used on her email signature."

Goes on to say:
"[The teachers are calling on a federal judge to not only reinstate their jobs, but also rule that the school system violated their First Amendment rights and award them monetary damages.]"

McKnight's reflexive and reactionary moves to appease the Jewish community were really short-sighted. She really stunk at finding nuanced, compromising solutions that balanced the conflicting needs of diverse communities. She just swatted one down to appease the other. Which just shows how ill-suited she was for the position she occupied.

Good. I hope Maryland chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations also files against Bethany Mandel for her hate speech. She has no business running for BOE.

Hate speech is not illegal.

what specifically were the posts and what did the email signature say?

We’ve been over this. The Westland teacher posted images of her students on social media while making inflammatory political posts. She deserves the discipline she gets.

The email signature said from the River to the sea. And the social media posts were shared memes criticizing Israel on her personal (not public) Facebook page.

This isn't strictly McKnight, and the reflexive and reactionary moves were to appease the Zionist community, not the Jewish community.

Hate speech is not illegal.

Lots of things MCPS employees can't do that are legal nonetheless.

Was this her MCPS email or her personal email?

MCPS email. But as she pointed out, other MCPS employees had LGBTQ statement, Black Lives Matter, etc. in their email signatures and were not similarly punished.
