Skin showing through light-colored linen pants

Anonymous
I'd like to buy some linen pants for vacation travel, but my skin is medium-toned and will show through white or off-white linen. I'd obviously wear nude underwear underneath. My question is, does it look weird to you when you basically see the shadows of people's skin (including butt area, with nude underwear!) under light pants? Debating whether to just stick to medium to darker colors.

Maybe find some lined pants, which admittedly is harder sometimes.

But in general, it's the context, I guess. On a beach I wouldn't care at all. In a formal environment, not so appropriate.

If vacation travel includes entering a church in Italy as a tourist, I would wear something else.

That is exactly what vacation travel involves. 😄 Thanks for your input.

I like jockies skimmies under light pants. I don’t see a leg line. But I don’t know how many tones they come in. Something comparable is out there in the right shade I’m sure.

This is exactly why I don't buy these types of pants. I don't want it to look see through, even if I am wearing no-show underwear. Over a bathing suit is fine.

This. I theoretically love the look of white linen pants. Every time i order some and try them on..... not so much. I can almost live with the body outlines coming through. What I can't stand is how seams and pockets look. You can see them through the single layer of the linen, and it makes the clothes look like they're unfinished.

Guy here. I find it sexy. But maybe you don't want attention from other men, so choose accordingly.

I don't mind seeing it or having it until I am standing in some headlights or entering a dark church while the sun sets behind me

Those see-through styles are meant for walking on the beach, not being a tourist around town.

I wear the skimmies even under chinos that aren’t quite see through. They look much better in than bikini or a thong.

I thought the PP's comments were helpful. You are just rude.

Sorry…this is the OP. I meant that going into churches in Italy is exactly what my vacation will involve. Thanks.

not in an overseas church in a country youdon't know. respect local conventions.

To answer your question OP, no, it doesn't look weird to me. You wear lightweight linen pants when it is hot. I'm not going to be scandalized by the vague outline of someone's body when they are just trying to keep themselves cool in the summer heat.
