MCPS Districtwide Climate and Culture Survey Now Open

Anonymous
MCPS Parents, staff and students, the districtwide climate and culture survey is now available from Feb. 14-Mar. 15: https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/news/quick-notes/2024-02/feb.-14-2024/20232024-districtwide-climate-and-culture-survey-now-open/

Be sure to fill it out so MCPS can continue to gather data that it intends to do absolutely nothing about!

You have to enter in your child’s student ID. I’m concerned about retaliation and am uncomfortable filling it out with identifying info.

Yay! Another survey.

It says everything avoid the climate that I am scared to fill out since I have to include my child’s student identification and worry about retaliation.

The students MCPS ID should not be required for this survey. Particularly when the data is not being collected by a third party.

Not only do they ask for the student ID, but they collection school name at the beginning and then again at the end, along with grade level, home zip code. Plus the race/ethnicity pulldown includes English, Irish, Italian, etc. as sub options to choose under white. Seems weird to me.

What alternative do you suggest for making sure that the survey is filled out by the actual parents/guardians of actual kids who are actually enrolled in MCPS?

It is also to ensure you only fill it out once. I just tried to start it again, but received a message "You already responded to the survey."

How about sending the survey link to the primary email on file of actual parents/guardians?

Not everyone has an email address, and links can be forwarded.

“If you have more than one child in this school, please complete one survey thinking of your youngest child in the school. If you have children attending more than one MCPS school, you may take the survey again indicating another child and another school after you have submitted this survey.”

So clearly parents with kids in more than one school would be able to fill it out more than once. As would be expected because they would be discussing different schools.

OP revise your first post quick before Mr.mod takes down the post with a link.

Of course. But this guards against someone filling out the survey more than once for the same child/same school.

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS SURVEY the way it is designed right now. ! It is flawed and you should not feel like you have to provide any identifying details in survey. -signed someone who creates surveys
