| Is this...it? I'm 42. I'm scared. Been two months now. |
| Keep going! |
| 2 months is nothing. |
| Keep going. |
| My 33 year brother took 9 months and had to change industries. Keep at it. |

| You’ll get nowhere applying to job postings. You need to talk to everyone you know. If you see a posting, figure out if you know anyone in the company or if they would know of your work at a previous job. |
| 2 months isn't long. I know lots of talented people who took almost a year to find something, and they all ended up in a better slot than they were. Just be persistent. |
OP might -- especially if the postings are Fed jobs. |
| I've been at it for 6 months OP. Hang in there! Keep going! |
| A good paying job or any job? Restaurants are hiring. |

I got laid off and it took me a year to get another job in my niche field. But I love my new job!
There were times that I was depressed and it certainly took its toll on my self esteem. But I didn’t give up, networked like crazy, and finally landed this one. You can do this, OP!!! |
| I'm in the same boat at 45. FWIW, I look to my faith tradition for perspective and to stay off the emotional roller-coaster as much as possible. My whole role in the tech sector pretty much got obliterated, so I'm starting over. |
If you were in tech you have $$$, just retire. |
| You got this, OP! I spent several months job hunting last year and I ended up applying to 30-ish jobs. I got about 20 rejections/ghostings, 3 interviews that resulted in good offers, and the rest were either interviews where I didn’t like the vibe and/or we mutually decided it wasn’t a good fit or they didn’t get back to me until I’d started my new job. |
