TJ Admission Offers - Class of 2027

Anonymous
Is there already a thread on this? https://www.fcps.edu/node/47920. I have not been able to find one.

Kilmer had a big jump in TJ admissions this year (doubled+). Anyone know why (e.g. TJ's new admission policy v. increased Kilmer student interest v. more focus by new principal at Kilmer, etc.)? As the parent of a future Kilmer student, my focus is less on my child's odds of getting into TJ (plenty of threads on that!) and more on whether the 2027 TJ numbers reflect increased academic rigor at Kilmer.

The drop in the % of female students is alarming.

Interesting, I remember posting about how crazy low the Kilmer numbers were last year. Given that every other school did not experience anywhere near this much change, this huge variance warrants some kind of explanation.

I think these numbers are more of in line with past years and maybe last year was an exception.

Question about the average GPA - does that include an extra point for honors classes, or does almost every student getting into TJ have straight As in 7th grade?

The racial diversity doesn't reflect the county's makeup which also merits a closer look.
