Infertility Support and Discussion

We have one child conceived naturally after 1+ year of trying and eventually getting an HSG -got pregnant the month after. We are now trying for number two and I am trying to track things (i.e., cervical mucus, ovulatory pain etc.) but I am getting so confused. Literally for 5 days I have mucus that changes but is not as clear as they say it should be for the "baby making consistency" -but I have menstrual craps in my back and I feel so bloated for about one week straight during what is suppose to be my ovulation period. any insight on what could cause these extended periods of ovulation -is this normal??

| How old are you and what is your FSH? Older women with higher FSH can tend to have false LH surges, which means your body acts like it is going to ovulate, but doesn't, and ultimate ovulates days later. This process (a few days of about to ovulate, a few days of not, and then a few more days of actually going to) could stretch out to a one week period. |
OP here, I am only 32 -this seems odd to me- |
| OP, sometimes your cervical is just thick (some people use Robitussin with expectorant to thin it out), so it's not a good sign to go by to track your ovulation. Get OPKs and start charting to determine your ovulation day. Or you can just have sex during the whole week you have fertile cervial mucus. Good luck! |

It is not uncommon to have cervical mucous that changes throughout the day. In fact, it's also not uncommon to have a combination of cervical mucous types (yellow and clear), etc.
Some of it might be vaginal secretions verse cervical mucous. Do the water test to figure out the difference. Are you tracking your temp. at all? That can give you an idea as to when to expect ovulation, the luteal stage, etc. |
