Hello all, my daughter (14) is a very beginner-level swimmer. She took group lessons on and off but never really mastered swimming. Then there was a break due to other extracurricular activities she was interested in and those times clashed with the swim lessons. Now she wants to go back to swimming and master at least the basic free-style strokes this summer. I agree that swimming is an essential life skill and she needs to learn that. She would like to have 1:1 lessons with a preferably female coach. Can someone recommend a reliable coach in the Loudoun/Ashburn area? Thanks in advance! |
Do you belong to a summer pool? They usually have private lessons. If not reach out to your local rec pool and ask around. At 14, she would probably be considered needing "adult" private instruction and not kid lessons. |
Ask rec center front desk for private lesson coach info. Also check those outdoor community pool that open for summer and have its own summer swim team ( the pool and front desk usually open at late May around Memorial Day weekend). Some only teaches their own members, but some teen coaches would ask you for pool entrance fee each time ( you and your DD as their guest during lesson with them) plus private lesson fee. |
Thank you both! Since we recently moved here, I was not aware of the local community or rec centers. I will check. |
The Saint James in Springfield offers private lessons. We have had a great experience with them. |
