DD just loves this school, but I don’t think we can swing it without merit scholarships (donut hole family). Any idea of how often they give out merit and the grades needed for that? Test scores?

Don't know the acronym. What is it.

Not sure what the threshold is, but our sophomore daughter received $20K /yr with a 3.9 unweighted GPA, three AP (two 4s and one 5) and no test score submitted. Wasn't offered Honors College but got into the Liberal Arts Scholars Program and was invited to join HC in her soph. year but declined (workload).

My HS senior was just offered 20k in merit/year as well. Higher stats than the student above.

UVM has a net price calculator on their website that will give you an estimate based on GPA/test scores-TO. It was accurate for the merit aid for my DC admitted (but didn't enroll) last year.

Your daughter has great taste! We toured last summer and our whole family loved it. OOS students with good grades (3.8ish and above I believe) usually receive about $20k. If in doubt this is definitely a good question for the regional admissions rep. My daughter found ours very helpful.

Between the common data set (which will show you what percentage of stude ts receive how much aid) and the net price calculator, you should be able to figure this out

Mine got 25K. 3.96uw/4.8w (mcps), 35 ACT, 4s and 5s on APs. Invested in essay. Also honors college.
Good luck!

Net price calculator was accurate for our family a few years ago. Predicted 12k merit and we got 12k merit.

Us too! Lower scores, and a lower GPA - 4.3 weighted.

3.9 unweighted
6 APs
Test optional

Merit = $15,000

Did not get into HC or scholars.

The presentation on the desired major was terrible.

Chose a school that was less expensive and was a better fit for the major.

3.9 GPA, 1450 SAT 11 APS 20,000/year merit. Attended, loved it, graduated last year and has a great job now. Wonderful experience overall in a fabulous location.

This is OP - super helpful information from you all. DD has a 3.95 unweighted so she should be competitive for the scholarships. Fingers crossed!
