Thank you notes

Anonymous
Do you handwrite them, send a typed letter, or email? Does it matter?

I hand-write them, unfortunately usually about 2 months late.
If I thought an email would suffice I could get them out within days.

I hand wrote mine and got them out within a couple days of the interview. DH and I each wrote the interviewer a thank you note.

What if there was no interview? On some of the group visits, we had little or no contact with admissions staff.

So you respond and say thank you for the group visit and we loved [insert what you learned or loved about the school here].

Absolutely hand written on nice stationary. If its going to take more than a week to get it out you could immediately sending an abreviated e-mail and then follow-up asap with a snail-mail note.

We got into all the schools we applied to and did not write any thank you notes. I really think they are a nice touch, don't get me wrong, but not sending them did no harm.
