Nannies calling themselves child psychologists

Anonymous
Has anyone noticed this on parenting Facebook pages? I joined a few local groups for people seeking childcare and half of the people posting looking for families are women in their early 20s with poor English calling themselves child psychologists. Aka something you need a doctorate to call yourself.

I’ve never seen this once. And having English as a second language does not mean you can’t be a child psychologist just licensed in your home country

I'd ask them what their degrees are in and where they got them.

Maybe there was a translation error? I haven’t seen this.

Of course not, but if you're 22 you don't have a PhD.

It takes 8 to 10 years to become a licensed child psychologist so it's obviously a lie.

I've seen child specialist or child expert. I'd assume it's a translating issue that got repeated. Good opportunity to get a sense of how they react to correction

What is the point of this post? Seems xenophobic with the focus on “poor English,” as if it’s the only language in the world. You also don’t know what their qualifications are from their home country. You didn’t ask. Ask.
