The book club I’m in has changed to an earlier hour, and now it seems like I need some heavy appetizer recipes rather than dessert-type things.
What does your book club eat? |
| Pull-apart samosa bread. |
| Something related to the book we read. |
I love that! |
|
Definitely something related to the book.
We also tend to have cheese and crackers and fruit, something savory and something sweet. |
| Honestly? Our book club has turned into a food club. It didn't matter how long we went between meetings, everyone always struggled to finish the book. So we have transitioned to a food club. Never been happier! |
| OP is here laughing at the previous comment! Maybe that’s why I’m feeling some pressure on this! |

We do a combo of apps and dessert.
Usually some kind of cheese and crackers, hummus and veggies and chips, or chips and guac / salsa, etc. Sometimes a kind of nuts or fruit salad. And usually something sweet too. Related to the book or season if possible - but not always possible. |
I really try to do this. If it's a Japanese author, I'll get some sushi and gyoza. My book club is sweet and generous, but people always bring the most random collection of snacks, so my themes don't always work, but I try! |

I used to love Foodhini - check their webpage for more tapas like entrees. Injera with Spectini.

| Heavy apps + dessert at my book club. I typically serve homemade guacamole, tiny meatballs in a sauce, a dip with crackers, a salad for the heathy ladies, mini quiches or a flatbread pizza. We arrive hungry! |
