I'm just so defeated, angry, you name it. I doubled the embryos from my last retrieval and, once again, got only 1 normal embryo. WTF. I hate this process. I started with over 30 eggs and got 1 embryo. FML. |
I’m so sorry. Having fertility issues is so, so hard. |
How old are you? At 40+, that’s within the range of normal. |
38 |
100% of my embryos were abnormal over 4 cycles between ages 32-34. I know it doesn't feel this way now, but being able to make a normal embryo every cycle at 38 is better than it could be. |
I did Ivf 4 times. The last time all eggs died but one. That last one was implanted. I now have an 11 year old. It only takes one. |
Sorry PP |
Well on top of this I also have recurrent pregnancy loss of late first trimester / early second trimester normal babies. So the odds are super stacked against me. It's been 4 years since I was able to carry a baby to term. |
I did 6 retrievals at 37-38. Got a toal of 4 normal embryos. Two failed transfers and then the third one took. He’s sleeping in the next room. |
Do you have DOrR? |
No - the opposite - PCOS. I had 30 eggs in retrieval and 7 made it to day 6 and only 1 was normal My moron RE thinks PCOS is a good thing so refused to treat it. Only a few months ago I saw a specialist that was willing to treat it (I was turned down by 5 physicians before that) |
I totally get how you feel. We're about the same age but I have DOR. I did 8 rounds of egg retrievals, 3 FETs. More details below. I was told by my RE that getting 1 normal at my age is good. ER #1 - 1 blastocyst, PGT abnormal ER #2 - 1 blastocyst, PGT normal. FET resulted in BPN ER #3 - 3 blastocyst, 1 PGT normal. FET resulted in BFP and my baby ER #4 - 7 - either no eggs, didn't fertilize or didn't make it to day 3 ER #8 - added HGH; 3 blastocyst (only 2 tested the last 1 was graded CC), 1 PGT normal. FET resulted in chemical |
I'm sorry that we're both going through this. I hesitate to do more ERs because I always end up high risk of OHSS and this last round I had "mild" which was being super sick for a week. |
I’m sorry, OP - do you have PCOS? This was my experience too…it becomes a numbers game, bc our eggs are so meh! Good luck to you - fwiw I only had 2 normal embryos after two retrieval cycles, but my first transfer worked |
Thanks for the positive encouragement. Yes, PCOS and only recently on metformin. My RE team doesn't believe in treating PCOS to improve egg quality, sadly. |
