Rob DiSpirito was the city manager for Rockville city for 7 years. He left for vague unclear reasons but was given a $300,000 severance by the city taxpayers.
Now he has been hired as City Manager for Takoma Park. As a taxpayer I’d like to know why he was given so much of my hard earned money….. |

Deep navy blue areas always have big govt and definitely make sure they get paid.
What else is new? Democrats gonna Democrat. |
It is unlikely that the taxes from your meager salary contributed to that payment. |
| The corruption and lack of transparency and accountability within MoCo is unreal. |
I wouldn’t say Rockville City is big government. |
"The severance package included $229,630 for nine months’ salary and benefits in accordance with DiSpirito’s contract, as well as $77,462 is for unused vacation time." https://moco360.media/2023/10/26/former-rockville-city-manager-received-over-300k-in-severance-according-to-settlement/ |
Ooh big mystery, OP! Do your homework. |
| When people are fired before their contract is over, it is paid out. It’s not that unusual. |
lol, yeah, suuuuuuuure: https://govsalaries.com/salaries/MD/city-of-rockville |
I can only imagine what Takoma Park is paying him, if he made over $300K in Rockville. Damn! |
$210,000 https://documents.takomaparkmd.gov/government/city-council/resolutions/2024/Resolution-2024-01-City-Manager-Contract-DiSpirito.pdf |
| So does anyone know why he was fired? |
Besides the fact that he was terrible at his job? He and the mayor didn’t get along. |
