The bigger the club, the more coaches they need and it's hard to find coaches who want third, fourth, or lower teams. That's a fact that no club can really get around. Some can throw more money at coaches to take weaker teams than others can but the best coaches want higher teams. Glorified rec teams at the high school ages don't hold too much appeal.

As to VR owning their own fields while Loudoun and the club FKA FCV don't, RavenTek only has a certain amount of space. The bigger they get the more room they will need, so that's going to be a problem I would think?

The one that perplexes me here is Valor. SYA owns something like a hundred acres at their SYA Sports Park. We were there for the Loudoun tournament and the grass fields are nice grass fields, but no lights and no turf? I drove to the back to see what the little road led to and the answer is not much. Are they planning to develop that sometime? Too bad they don't have Revolution's bottomless pockets, because that's a lot of land that they own.

Revolution and LS practice at Hanson last year before they took on new members. Everyone acts like their fields are amazing. Yes, it's an okay facility. But, having a couple of dedicated fields for what 40 teams? Hardly something to get excited about. They couldn't even support their own enrollment with last year's numbers, so not sure how that's working out for them this year other than a couple of overcrowded fields.

Don't expect Rev to get any bigger than they are now. From U13 and older, the plan is to limit 3 teams per age group. It's not going to be like LS that has 5 or more per age group. U12 and younger may have four teams per age but will shrink as they transition to 11v11. There's no overcrowding issue with the facility now that FCV no longer practices there.

Why would they want to limit revenue at U13 and older?

I won't deny that Rev is out make money but they aren't sacrificing quality over quality. The culture is different than at a club like LS. The haters won't accept that but it is. Parents don't leave the club because of the culture, they leave because their kids didn't get moved up or didn't get a offer for the next season. The top leadership at the club are trying to build the club using European methodology. It's not about getting as many kids into the club, it's about getting the best available kids and making them better. Hate on Rev if you want but don't hate without coming out and experiencing it for yourself.

Probably Niko but def an insider. All lies tho. They said they wouldn’t do a LS with many teams… actions speak louder than words. It’s all a facade. The bonus is they can serve you liquor where others can’t. Winning? 🤣

Re: the boys side, VRSC could have easily added another team per age group given demand and turnout for tryouts. The club didn't do that. In fact, the club elected to handpick to supplement its existing teams for the most part.

That's the pitch, but anyone who has seen their teams play knows it's just a pitch

Not gonna lie- I am enjoying it. My kid is only in rec at the moment, but it is nice to have a venue that has bathrooms, shade, seats, food, and places for your other kids to work on homework.

The other thing that is pretty cool is my son's coach is on the pro team, so he loved being able to cheer on his coach.

That’s cute. You must belong to the same group as The Cackling lady who rose to that position using the knees a lot. Rather pathetic but you do you
