my doc prescribed Ozempic for me back in December, but it has been out of stock at CVS. Where / how are you all getting your weight loss drugs when there is such a shortage? |
I get mine online, through a compounding pharmacy(semaglutide) |
I get Wegovy at CVS. Maybe try different locations. |
I checked with the pharmacists at two places where we get prescriptions filled and asked what they were seeing 8n terms of availability. Startting doses of wegovy were ttricky/spotty to find, but zepbound was easy. So thats what i asked my doctor to prescribe.
Prior authorization was a hassle but once that was solved the scrip was filled the same day. |
I have not been able to get it since last summer and I've called around to pharmacies all over Virginia up to 4 hours away regularly. |
I got it on Amazon Pharmacy over the summer but no more. I get a compounded version but need to go to the doctors office for the shot. I trust their compounded version so didn't want to switch to an online compounder. |
are starting doses of zepbound still easier to get or was that just when it first came out last month?
Wondering if I should ask my doctor for that instead. I have insurance pre authorization for Wegovy now. So would have to go through that process again. |
My pharmacy has zepbound in stock, but I need to go through the preapproval process for insurance (UHC). They said they wouldn't approve unless I'd taken something else that didn't work, so I'm not optimistic. |
OP - thanks everyone. How is Zepbound? Similar to Ozempic? |
Zepbound is better than Ozempic - tirzepatide has two active ingredients vs the one in Ozempic. But both are great options.
Easily found Ozempic at the Walmart Supercenter in Vienna |
^^^ got 3 boxes for a 90 day prescription |
thanks PP.
My CVS in BEthesda has been out of it since December. |
I found Ozempic 2.5 at Walmart but insurance wouldn't cover.
Now trying to get a Zepbound prescription filled via Lilly Direct as I'm trying to use their savings card. I've been working thru this process of prescriptions/prior approvals/denials etc for 6 weeks now and still haven't gotten a prescription filled yet. |
