What ADHD meds are NOT experiencing shortages?

Anonymous
We are really struggling to find Vyvanse or the generic. The pharmacy a friend previously had luck with told me tonight that they won’t have any until hopefully next month. Are there any of the ADHD meds that aren’t backordered? Have people had luck having Vyvanse prescriptions filled at pharmacies further out from DC?

We've had no problem filling Azstarys, a long acting methylphenidate med.

Thanks for the website! It gives me hope that we won’t have to switch to something else.

I have been able to get the name brand Vyvanse filled in the Tysons area. The shortages seem to be impacting the generic.

That said, call your insurance company first and ask if/how they will pay for the name brand. The name brand is over $400/month without insurance coverage...

Quillivant, it’s a liquid so it’s a PIA if you’re used to kid just being able to quickly swallow a pill, but at least it’s consistently available. Doc said because it is a brand name and $$$. You can get coupon to bring the cost down.

We have had no difficulty getting Adzenys

One pharmacy I spoke with said the only medication they’re *not* having issues with is brand vyvanse

I just got brand Vyvanse through OptumRx. 90 day supply of 20 mg pills for $125. Not ideal but I’ll take it.

This week trying to get Vyvanse: no brand name or generic available to get or order at CVS, Safeway, or express scripts. After 5 hrs on the phone with my insurance and days spent calling around to pharmacies, insurance finally agreed to pay for the Vyvanse we found at another pharmacy far from our home that was out of network. Here is what I learned: the generic is facing regulatory issues and is not being produced. Putting pressure on the supply of vyvanse. We are going to ask our dr about switching, so thanks for the recommendations.

We have been able to get name brand Vyvanse at our local CVS that we have gotten it from for 6y. We received a letter in November that our insurance (Cigna) would stop covering the name brand and I panicked when I could not get the generic. Turns out the name brand is $60/month vs $10/month. DS has been on it for 6 years and I wasn't interested in trialing new meds so it was worth the $50/month. I don't know if our CVS holds it for us or what, but it was there in Nov, Dec and Jan.

I haven’t had issues getting generic methylphenidate ER at lower doses from CVS. When I was picking up earlier, someone was having issues getting vyvanse filled.

No issues with Methylphenadate ER (54mg) - Our CVS has it like clockwork.

I filled a script for brand name Vyvanse yesterday. They are backordered on generic. It was for 25 pills and I paid roughly 60 bucks.

those of you who are having success finding Vyvannse, can you share which pharmacies you're using? I'm in Rockville and have spent hours trying to find vyvannse this week to no avail. More than willing to drive far. Thank you!!!
