What are your teens doing to celebrate their birthdays?

Anonymous
My son has gone to a few bar mitzvahs this year and had a lot of fun. DS is turning 13 and I said we could also do a party with dj at our country club or house and he declined.

Looking for some ideas.

My other son is turning 15 and wants to go fishing.

They've done all different things - going out for pizza with friends and then walking to an ice cream place for sundaes, going out to sushi or Benihana, going on a scavenger hunt around the city (that was the most effort we put into any of their parties), pottery painting and Starbucks, going to a different city with a friend for the weekend, going on a day cruise with a few friends - as you can see, what they do really runs the gamut.

My kid went to a party at Autobahn in Jessup and had a great time! Two races only, but fun.

Other fun parties for my teen have been:

Bowling (Pinstripes or Bowlero)
TopGolf - good food and the kids just hang out and laugh at each other while they golf
Escape Room
Laser Tag

Let them lead.

A bar or bar mitzvah is a not a birthday party. Not sure why you mentioned those events in relation to birthdays.
