Red seats - Thoughts?

What do you think about red leather seats? Are they a turn off, something you like? I can't decide how I feel about them.

Huge turn off. Cheesy.

Depends on the car and how old you are.

Always loved them. Better with certain exterior colors such as black and silver than others. I really dislike the fact that most new cars seem to come with black interiors. Boring and hot.

I tend to think in pictures that red seats look really bad. But sometimes they look a little better in person. I can't see myself ever buying a car with them.

Depends on the vehicle and exterior paint color. I would get them in a sports car, especially if it's two toned (red & black).

Yes but it is car dependent. Red seats look better on sport sedans, sporty SUVs, and of course sports cars. It also looks good if it’s mixed with black so it’s not a sea of red dash, door panels, etc.

Dramatic, and it depends on the colors of the exterior and the rest of the interior whether the seats look harmonious or garishly out of place. Probably terrible for resale because few people will want them in any case.

My daughter bought a used black Volvo XC40 with red seats about a year ago. She loves the red seats. I love that she got a good deal because of the red seats.

For Boomer men. The trend is long over but people reliving their youth will pay $$$ for what they couldn't buy in their youth. Or occasionally what they sold after settling down.

In my opinion, red only looks good on vintage white cars. Another attractive combo is deep green with tan leather. Not in style at all but good-looking.

If you mean a cordovan leather shoe color, might be different. Brown with reddish undertones varies.

Red vinyl seats on my 1979 Pontiac bad
Red inserts on black seats in my clk 500 good.

Depends on the car.

+1 We have a black Mustang convertible with red seats. It wouldn’t have been my first choice but we got it slightly used and wanted a manual so we didn’t have a lot of choices. It is cheesy for some people but it looks great for other people.
