APS Option School Waitlist — When Does SchoolMint Update?

I have two kids high on various waitlists and understand today is when the first round of those offered a spot have to accept or decline. How quickly does SchoolMint update once a student has declined?

My account says it was updated today and I'm one slot closer on the waitlist, but I don't know when that person ahead of me declined.

Does anyone have thoughts about the chances of getting into HB if you're #2 on the waitlist? I'm thinking low, but not zero?

My guess is some will decline since everyone applies to HB by default. The school’s philosophy and offerings are not a good fit for every student however.

Are we talking for 6th or 9th? For 6th, depends on how many slots your ES has. Ours only has 2 so chances seem low.

I’d say a decent chance but really depends. I’ve known kids who decline for all sorts of reasons. And even if they accept now, they can always change their minds later.

The lists are separate per school
So figure out who the kids are and determine if they’ll decline. At our 3 slot school, two are committed and I don’t know the third family.

This. Everyone knows who the 3 are within half a day. Our year, 2 were definites from the get go, and the third took her time to decide but she did accept the slot.

We only have two slots and I only know one of them. They have been quiet about it. I’m usually not in the know as it is.

I'm only aware of 1 of the 3 kids. The other two don't seem to be public yet.

My child was #1 on the waitlist for 6th grade and was offered a spot in May. The kid who was #2 was offered a spot a few months into the school year. Our ES had 3 spots.

Nothing updated for me at the 8pm, including the Arlington Tech waitlist. I thought that would see some movement. I bet there is a delay in updating the sites.

My kid’s waitlist number did not change yesterday for any of the high schools. Perhaps there is a delay of a day or two.
