Are these meets equivalent? |
NCSA’s cut times are generally harder to make (with the exception of the 11 and 13 year old distance events, ICSA has the same cut for the 11s/12s and 13s/14s in the distance events making it harder for the 11 and 13 year olds), but both meets are fun travel meets to somewhere warm. |
No. ISCA is younger and slower in the age group category. |
I think that NCSA is the more competitive meet. |
They are pretty close. Different clubs choose between them.
They are both good meets. |
I feel like smaller clubs got to ICSA because it is slower and they can get a travel meet in for more of their swimmers. Larger clubs tend to go to NCSA. |
NSCA is faster overall because the cuts are faster and they don't make exceptions (ISCA sometimes allows teams to have entire bonus swimmer with no cuts at all...). But comparing finals to finals, the fastest kids are about equally fast, if that makes sense. |
Even if a team has swimmers with cuts, it can be tough getting into the NCSA meet. They first open registration to clubs that have previously attended them open it up to other clubs, if space allows. Makes it hard for newer or smaller clubs to compete, so they typically go to ISCA.
In terms of times, NCSA has faster cut times. |
Go look at the cuts. Some are faster for ISCA, some are faster for NCSA. |
The only ISCA age group cuts that are faster are for the 200 and over events for the 11 year olds and 13 year olds because they set those cuts as the same as the cuts for the 12 and 14 year olds. |
Both are decent end of season meets.
NCSA is more competitive and more difficult cuts. Neither are national championships. If your a local club touting your ISCA team ranking you probably need to take a look in the mirror |
If you’re an adult who uses “your” incorrectly you should also probably look in the mirror. |
Someone pays a lot of money to go to ISCA it appears |
I think NCSA has a waitlist for clubs to join the meet. NCAP and RMSC always got to that meet. ISCA has more openings for clubs to go, Both are good end of season meets since the club gets to go to Florida in March. |
Do local clubs tout their ICSA rating???? Seriously? I have never heard of that and that is kind of embarrassing when you think about it. |
