What cogat score is worth appealing?

Above 130?

I'm curious because our teacher encouraged us to apply if interested at the fall conference. But then after I went through the work to write up the packet and find samples, we got the score of only 120 back the day after I submitted everything. I feel silly to have referred.

I’ve seen kids get in with 120

This. GBRS/HOPE is the most important factor. If a kid has a high teacher rating, is above grade level in math and reading, and has good work samples, a 120 CogAT won't ruin the kid's chances.

I’d appeal w anything 98% and above but I’d also only refer if I felt that my child needed AAP. It’s not just about the score, it’s about your kid and the way they learn.
