Gifted enrichment programs for 2E

Our 2E kid (age 9) was recommended to do gifted enrichment programs such as Davidson institute or John's Hopkins. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for these types of programs? Ideally in NW DC/Bethesda?

The goal is to enrich the gifted part and still be able to support the ADHD part.

Davidson and the JHU CTY program are overnight summer programs, I believe, and you have to test in. These aren't in NW DC or Bethesda. And not sure how they support ADHD but you can inquire with them.

Otherwise, if you are in MCPS you can look at the GTLD program. After school, you can find a class or some type of activity they are interested in and stimulates their cognitive strengths.

As the parent of a 2e kid, I would recommend you encourage as much deep diver exploration in areas they love and focus on supporting the ADHD in school.

You could do Russian school of math or outside creative writing programs

Honestly, I would suggest exploring whatever is of interest - robotics, coding, music. My gt 2e kid is really into violin.

CTY has online options, mostly asynchronous, I believe. We thought they were too expensive for what you got.

We've done better supplementing with activities rather than classes. Robotics for us, but obviously depends on what your child is interested in.
